UN-DREADED LOCKS

When you're feeling funky, get a chunky 'do that works on virtually any hair type. On dry hair, create several 1-inch and some 1/2-inch sections of hair. Tease each one at the roots (meaning, lightly comb toward the scalp), then spritz each chunk with hairspray (like Image Labs Shine Plus Firm Hair Spray or White Rain Collections Maximum Hold Hair Spray). Before the hairspray "dries," twist each chunk 'round and 'round, leaving the ends free, or secure them with a little string (Maria de Los Angeles, a stylist with Kim Lepine salon in New York City prefers styling wax--find it at drugstores in the ethnic-hair section--instead of hairspray for the twisting move; just warm the wax with your fingers for a few seconds before using it). For the final touch: Beginning at an imaginary line between your ears and the outermost corners of your eyes, pull a few pieces upward to the crown, then secure them with a teeny, matching hair claw. Leave a few pieces down around your ears for added coolness.

Pixie Perfect Hair
To create soft pixie waves follow these instructions:
~While your hair is slightly damp work a little mousse into it.
~Part your hair into 3 sections. Pull the middle section back and clip it.
~Braid the 2 sides loosely and blow-dry.
~Unclip the middle section and blow dry strait with a paddle brush.
~Use a pretty clip to secure the middle in back and undo the side, brush, and spritz lightly with hairspray.

Upbeat Upsweep
Create an upsweep thats graceful and relaxed:
~On damp hair apply gel or mousse.
~Take paper towels and roll them into long strips. Us them as though they were rollers. Just wrap hair around the paper towel. Tie the ends of the towel to secure it.
~Once your hair is dry remove the rollers and brush your hair out.
~part your hair with your fingers down the middle (a comb is too neat.) Twist the hair on top of your head in a loose bun and secure it with pins. Spritz with hairspray.

Flower Power
The look of flowers in your hair isn't reserved just for tropical paradises or weddings. In the spring and summer flowers add a beautiful touch of elegance and fun to your style no matter where you're going.
A few tips for all you flower lovers:
1.Be sure to keep your hairstyle simple. Flowers make fussy 'dos look cluttered.
2.Tuck a flower behind your ear or pin a few smaller ones across the top of your crown like a tiara.
3.Be sure to use hair-friendly flowers like gardenias or orchids. They're hardy and elegant.
4.Stay away from daisies. They may seem like the friendliest flower, but they tend to wilt in hair.

just rolled outta bed spyx
this works best w/ short (chin length) layered hair
comb wet hair and sqeeze out excess water
finger-comb in mousse and twist hair in towel-turbin style ( i like using baby towels cuz they absorb water well and they are light. u should try to invest in some)
leave hair in towel for 10-20 minutes depending on the the thickness of your hair.
take out of towel and add some hair gel (experiment w/ amounts)
now the fun part!
shake your head vigorously from side to side (like you were saying no) under a hair dryer. if you hair needs and extra boost flip your head over for a little bit and keep shakin'
now HAIRSPRAAAAAAAAAAAAAY you can shake your head and hairspray if you want (until dry) TA DAAAAAAA

if you do it right it looks like josie's hair from josie and the pussycats!

Spikey piggies

sometimes the hairstyle above doesn't work so well but don't be sad! make perfectly flippy piggies! sperate your hair into 2 sections and tie off w/ rubber bands. add a kidee clip or bobypins.
